Carmina's Old Jollibee Commercial


All the good things you hunger for



This is an old commercial of Carmina Villaroel. That time she’s just a little kid, her family will go out to eat in Jollibee then her family leave her in the house, as they are about to leave, Carmina looks like sad because she wants to go with them, she’s imagining about the foods in the Jollibee like French fries and spaghetti and it seems like she’s hungry, and her father noticed her frowning face. While they are arriving down the road her father who is the driver of the car remembered Carmina so they go back in the house to pick up Carmina and go directly to the Jollibee. As they are eating, Carmina gave thanks to her father because her craving and all the good things she hunger for was satisfied.

The message of this commercial is to show for the people that the food products of Jollibee are very satisfying and people will not regret about it. And also the commercial showed that Jollibee is for family, because it can help the family to have a strong bond and to have a time to each other even in a regular day.

The medium being used is through television in order to get the fast food’s target market, because with the help of flashing this commercial again and again in the television, people will notice it and can catch their attention so that they will tend to eat at the Jollibee fast food chain.

The Voice Philippines coach and Pinoy rock icon Bamboo MaƱalac featured in the TV commercial as the endorser of Jollibee Garlic Pepper beef. He used his song “Beep Beep” to relate the Garlic Pepper BEEF, so that there is a combination between his song together with the product that’s why Bamboo fits the promotion.

The message of this campaign is for people to patronize the Jollibee’s food product. It is affordable and satisfying that’s why it is suitable for the students and people who are thrifty. When customers purchase this Jollibee product, they will delighted and satisfy because of its deliciousness so that the money being used to buy the food product will be worthy and because the product is just only 50 pesos so it is affordable.

The type of quality of the advertisement being used is attractive; it can easily catch the attention of many because of clear and bold texts and pictures. This is very important in creating a print advertisement because in terms of billboards its physical appearance is appealing and pleasing especially for the people who are the by-passers, people might have a short time to read what’s on the billboard so it should be noticeable. It also arouses interest because the words being used were good, the message of the advertisement is understandable and it makes people curious about the product so people will tend to try and buy the said product. The advertising technique being used is the “Testimonial” because it is endorsed by the music artist, Bamboo, it is promoted by him to make an extra impact for people and it seems like bamboo eating the Jollibee product so people will buy the product and eat it too.

The artist and singer Sarah Geronimo together with the voice kids Darren Espanto and Lyca Gairanod promote the best seller of Jollibee which is the Jollibee chicken joy. This product is the most favorite food of the kids’ even adults, that’s why when Lyca and Darren saw the chicken joy they are excited to eat.

In the story, Darren and Lyca are practicing the theme song of the commercial and it seem like Lyca find it difficult so when Sarah arrives with chicken joy she said to Lyca “to sing from the heart, you need joy”, Lyca brighten her day because of what she saw, she became active and energized. She shared the chicken joy to every person she met, and those people also became happy because that chicken joy is so delicious and very satisfying for all ages.

This commercial showed us that we can be happy because of the chicken joy, even though there are such problems that we are experiencing, the stress reliever was the chicken joy from Jollibee. This commercial also showed us that if we purchase the Jollibee product, the money that we used to buy will be worthy because we will be satisfied and delighted of the crispiness and deliciousness of the said food product.

This advertisement is effective in the eyes and mind of people because the story made and its message was appealing and interesting.

This TV commercial was aired around 1987. The kids at that time who are grown-up already have fun memories about this commercial. The tradition of people every weekend is to go out, go to the mall, or just eat out with family. The new Jollibee commercial releases on the 3rd of July 2015 and it is posted in YouTube, which is the revival of the classic I love you Sabado commercial.

This commercial reminds us to enjoy and spend quality time with our family every weekend. While eating in Jollibee, the family’s strong bond became memorable because of the food products of Jollibee that are satisfying to every customer especially the kids. This commercial promotes not just the food products but also the weekend family bonding. As a child, we all know that our parents are busy with their jobs and their free time only is on every weekend, so kids are very excited every end of the weekdays because that is the time that they can spend more time with the whole family. Jollibee, which is the kid’s favorite called as “panlasang Pilipino” because of its satisfying taste for everyone.
